Why does critical analysis even matter?

Everything one does, says and is can be critically examined.
It's depressing.
It's stressful.
It's contemplative.
When you start asking the big questions- HOW? WHY?- that's when things get messy.
But it's worth it.

And everything changes over time.

How does one find meaning in the arts? In writing? In life?
What even is art?

These questions transcend time.
Literature transcends time.

It shapes and transforms our thoughts.

Without words how would you explain what you're thinking,
     What you're feeling?

We read.
We imitate.
We interact with people.
We think.

Art and Literature help make the private experiences in one's life public,
and helps one transcend TIME
and PLACE
and SOCIAL STATUS
and CULTURE
and SOCIETY.

And now that everything that exists is expressed in words,
There will always be critics to judge those most private things that have become public.
